John Reid Film Noir Short
For an exciting film noir project, a group of NHTV students are looking for an extraordinary group of actors. Inspired by the greats such as Double Indemnity and The Third Man, John Reid will take us all back to the golden age of cinema. Led by snappy dialogue and an enticing script, this short film is truly one of a kind.
The Story
-- In the 1940s and 50s John E. Reid developed a nine step technique to obtain confessions from suspects. Known as the Reid technique, it has been adapted and used by the FBI , CIA and many law enforcement offices for more than 60 years. —
John Reid meets the prime suspect of his latest murder case. Michael Grosner, a seemingly narcissistic stock broker from Philly, is waiting in the interrogation room. Convinced by his previous success, Reid is confident about his self-developed technique and starts the interrogation. But when unexpected evidence contradicts everything he’s ever worked for, Reid finds himself in a position where there is no time nor place for mistakes. In his search to prove Grosner’s guilt, he uncovers things he never hoped to find.

To create an authentic feel, we are specifically looking for native English speaking actors or anyone who’s confident about their skills. For John Reid, we are searching for people who are willing to challenge themselves, travel back in time and give a performance that the golden age of film was so famous for.
Characters
John Reid
A former street cop who is one of the top investigators at the FBI. With his self-developed technique, he is notorious for getting his suspects to confess.
Cooper
Reid’s boss is known to have a bigger than life ego and a loud mouth to go with that. His love for bourbon during office hours is now a well acknowledged fact and you’ll never find a man who smokes the pipe with such joy as good old Lewis Cooper.
Michael Grosner
The prime suspect in the murder on Martha White. Despite his claims that he didn’t kill her, Reid discovers that Michael’s history with the victim goes far beyond what he imagined.
Martha White
A beautiful secretary and mother of two is the victim in Reid’s murder case. Martha had the perfect life, loves by everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting her so who would want to murder her?
